The Flywheel Function

The Moon is more than a pretty light in the night sky. It is a gyroscope - a cosmic flywheel that stabilizes the Earth.

The Moon pulls on the Earth's equatorial bulge. This force forces our planet to wobble - but in controlled paths. It's as if someone repeatedly pushed the spinning top before it falls over.

The Mars Problem

Why is the Earth so stable? A look at our neighbor provides the answer.

Mars has no large moons. Phobos and Deimos are tiny rocks - far too small to stabilize the red planet.

Mars' axis has shifted by more than 60 degrees in the past. The consequences: extreme climate swings, wandering polar caps, deadly instability.

On Earth? None of that. Thanks to the Moon.

What if someone intentionally manipulated the Moon – to stop a system that had gone out of control?

The "good gods" of mythology – those who fought against the "evil" – could have shut down the system. The price: the collapse of the frequency network.

The flood myths of all cultures – from Noah to Gilgamesh, from Manu to Deucalion – could be the echo of this cosmic intervention.

One last metaphor:

The pyramids: not temples, but machines. The Moon: not a deity, but a component. The ancient rituals: not superstition, but operating manuals.

And us? We have forgotten who we are and what we once knew.

The Scientific Explanation

The Giant Impact Hypothesis

[Giant Impact] Scientific consensus states: About 4.5 billion years ago a Mars-sized protoplanet - called "Theia" by scientists - collided with the proto-Earth.

The collision was violent. Parts of both celestial bodies were ejected into space. The debris formed a ring around the Earth, slowly aggregating into the Moon.

According to this theory, the Moon is not a "foreign body" captured. It is part of the Earth itself - a piece of our planet ejected in the collision and now orbiting us.

The Time Problem

Here lies the real puzzle.

The Giant Impact Hypothesis dates the Moon to 4.5 billion years - long before any life on Earth. The first single-celled organisms appeared only a billion years later. Homo Sapiens only 300,000 years ago.

How can a people have a memory of something that billions of years before its existence?

The Honest Answer

Science can explain how the Moon originated. It can explain why it stabilizes the Earth. It can measure Earth Tides and calculate piezoelectricity.

What it cannot satisfactorily explain:

• Why five ancient authors consistently report over 500 years about "before the Moon"
• Why only the Arcadians had this tradition
• Why similar myths appear in completely independent cultures

The conventional explanation (metaphor, exaggeration) is more likely. But it is not more satisfying.

What Remains

After this subsection we stand at a crossroads:

Both paths have problems. The conventional doesn't satisfactorily explain the consistency of the Proselene texts. The speculative contradicts everything we know about astrophysics.

Perhaps the truth lies between them. Or at a place we haven't found yet.
